In terms of creative inspiration and practical implementation Lune is by far the most quintessentially Italian collection to spring from the well-established exclusive collaboration between the Archivio Gio Ponti and Amini: «We wanted to set up a collection of Ponti-inspired patterns and design drawn from his works and drawings that could come alive through typically Italian craft materials and techniques. This is our tribute to the sophistication of Sardinian craftsmanship in particular as well as in acknowledgment of Gio Ponti’s attention to Italian handicrafts, which he fostered tirelessly with love and enthusiasm, extolling its virtues in many articles published in the specialty magazine Domus, where he worked for years as editor» explains Ferid Amini.
The collection is an impressive mix of poignant lines reminiscent of classic architecture, as well as essential graphic markings that seamlessly merge into contemporary interiors. Arena, Cara and Dote: three motifs at once essential, classy, and rich in contrasts, perfectly balanced between straight and curved lines, diamonds made from circle segments, and generally themes that instantly hark back to Gio Ponti’s vast graphical and creative heritage.
The collection Lune by Amini represents a set of different values, whose sum total amounts to the very best in design and manufacturing. Matter is an essential element in this creative offering: Sardinian wool selected according to weave type and the many customizable color combinations available in this collection. This tailored approach also extends to sizes and measurements, which are not limited to the classic 200×300 cm and 250×350 cm dimensions, but include a number of different sizes in order to work out the best solution for one’s personal furnishing project.
These unique carpets are woven in Sardinian wool and entirely hand made in Sardinia
using the traditional “a pibiones” technique which creates a visual effect akin to grapes
(“pibiones” in Sardinian).
