Biography
Tommaso Barbi, born in Florence in 1944, studied design in Florence, Rome, and Milan. Active mainly in the 1960s and 1970s, Tommaso Barbi passed away in 2015.
Tommaso Barbi’s work is characterized by the use of shiny metals such as brass and bronze, mirrored surfaces and golden finishes, reliefs and organic textures, and natural shapes such as leaves, corals, and shells. Among his most iconic designs are the Foglia lamps. Barbi also designed furniture and decorative objects.
